Luke Evans (Indicee CTO) and I recently took a quick overnight trip to Boulder, Colorado to present to the Boulder Business Intelligence(BI) Brain Trust (BBBT). If you don’t know the story behind the BBBT I will give you a brief rundown.
The BBBT was founded by Claudia Imhoff, one of the BI industries’ leading consultants, as a way to bring together BI consultants and experts who attend 1/2-day presentations from interesting and innovative BI vendors. It’s a reciprocal arrangement — the BBBT gets briefed on leading edge tools and technologies, and the vendors get pro bono access to industry experts who offer their ideas on where BI is going, their advice on marketing direction and messaging, and their critique of vendor offering(s).
We split our presentation into a “publicly consumable” component and a “Non-disclosure (NDA)” component, which was really our main purpose for attending the BBBT. We opened the Kimono pretty wide and shared a lot of details about the future of Indicee. In the end, I think we got some very positive and constructive feedback from the group, which was quite encouraging for the Indicee team. We have already started to incorporate a lot of these ideas and feedback into our business strategy and product roadmap.
We will be publicly announcing some of these new company directions and product features in the new year so stay tuned!
If you are a twitter user you can search on the #BBBT hashtag or follow this link to view the various comments and feedback that BBBT attendees were tweeting live during our presentation. You will have to scroll down until you start seeing the Indicee related tweets.
Claudia Imhoff and I also recorded a 10-minute podcast talking about the CURRENT world of Indicee. I had to bite my tongue a bit with respect to our future but that will come soon enough. You can have a listen to the podcast here.
Thanks to the BBBT for hosting Indicee I am looking forward to our next update.
Until next time…
Mark
