Error Messages
This lists some of the error messages you might encounter in the indicee application and how you can deal with them.
XLS/HTML
Receiving this message means that you have uploaded a file that has been detected as an HTML document.
Many systems, when exporting to Excel, will actually export the file in HTML. Excel will read and display this type of document. We currently cannot read this type of file.
If you want to confirm whether or not your file is in HTML, try opening the file in notepad. If you see a lot of HTML, you will need to convert your file so that indicee will be able to read it.
There could be many ways to do this. The simplest is to open the file in Excel and click File | Save As. Choose a new type, CSV, from the drop down and click Save. This will drop all of the HTML tags in the document, and you may loose some formatting of the Excel file.
Another way may be from the application you originally exported the file from. Take a look to see if you have the option to export to CSV.
