Build Your Own Data Mart

Indicee is a cloud-based, secure and reliable application from the creators of Crystal Reports which enables you to easily upload and combine data from almost any source and then create reports and share the results.

Once you’ve created your Free Account and have logged into Indicee, chose “create data mart” to launch the Indicee Data Mart Designer.  For each new report data file, Indicee will guide you through the process of uploading the file, previewing your data and then organizing your data mart. 

Assemble your report data files
The first step is to identify the report or data file that contains the data you need.  Indicee can upload Crystal Report files and columnar Excel and CSV/TSV files.  Click here to learn more about file formats.

Preview Data
Once uploaded, Indicee displays your data set in a familiar spreadsheet format. Click to keep or hide the columns you want to access - and don’t worry. You can always come back to add them later if needed!

Preview Data Mart
Now it’s time to preview you data mart and start to organize how you will be able to create reports. Indicee’s intelligent field mapping tool will automatically match columns in your report and sets up “best guess” relationships for you. You can easily drag and drop new fields, or remove ones you don’t need this time. And you can rename any field to better match your own language. Organize your data fields by simply dragging and dropping them to where you need them in your report. It’s that simple.

Name your data mart—and you’re done!
Your last ‘step’ in building your own data mart is to name and save it. One last click and you are done! You’ve built your own data mart.
